Fine mantel clock made in France in the early 20th century. As well as for its smart box, made of burl walnut-veneered wood and with a nice French polish finish, the clock stands out because of its 8-days Paris movement that chimes the hours and the halves. It is in very good condition and perfect working order: the movement has been revised and fine-tuned so this clock works like the first day of use.The clocks box is very appealing and well preserved. It is made of solid wood, carefully curved so it creates an even and continuous surface. The wood has been covered by burl walnut veneer: this finish has been nicely performed by a good professional. The box is veneered all over its surface except for the rear door that lets us reach the movement. The blur wood is lovely, with its different shades of brown: from the light golden ochre to the deep black. The French polish finish that protects the surface provides it with a wonderful satin glow.At the front of this clock we can see the round face located at the top. It is white with black Roman numbers and is embellished by a nice golden bronze frame engraved with volutes. Under the face there is a window with a glass pane through which we can see the nice pendulum bob. The inner movement is made of brass and bears an engraved stamp with the manufacturers name, Vincent & Cie., and the inscription MEDAILLE DARGENT. On the other hand, the pendulum bob is also profusely engraved with floral motives and neoclassic-style volutes. This antiques clock lovely box and its great movement turn it into an exclusive and high-quality piece that will provide any smart living room with a touch of nobleness.Measurements: Width: 20 in/51 cm.
