The lovely mantel antique clock that we can see in the images was made in France in the 19th century and has a bronze box and 8-day Paris movement. The clock works perfectly and has been revised and fine-tuned in order to guarantee it. The box is a beautiful example of filigree decoration, with a rectangular structure that rests on four volute-shaped legs. The structure is adorned with a lot of bronze volutes and vegetal motives, and is also crowned by a vase-shaped detail. At the front of the clocks base we can see one of the most remarkable features of its design: a face or mask that seems to depict an angel flanked by two open wings. Under this detail we can see two branches with leaves and fruits that start in the medal that contains the face. The volute-shaped legs boast their wavy beauty on both sides. Over the mask we can see a series of architectural motives and volutes, and just over them we can see the clocks face. The face is circular in shape, made of white porcelain and with black Roman numbers. The hands are also black. The clock preserves the original key needed to wind it up and set the movement. The crowning vase-shaped piece is adorned with two small masks, one at each side. Last but not least, the clocks movement bears the engraved serial number 992 and a circular mark located at the bottom. This mark contains an inscription reading: MEDAILLE DARGENT 1855 VINCENTI & CIE. Its majestic beauty and the precision of its movement turn this mantel clock into a first-class item, worthy of the most elegant home. Measurements: Width: 12.5 in/32 cm. Height: 21.6 in/55 cm.
