Decorative and antique pendulum mantel clock and candelabra set, made of golden bronze and designed to be shown off in a mantelpiece, on a fine cupboard or on a visible shelf. The set is made of bronze and the three pieces stand on fine white marble bases. They are in very good condition and the clock works perfectly, chiming the hours and the halves; the A.D. Mougin movement has been carefully fine-tuned. The set boasts a sculptural design, highly decorative and full of romantic charm. The clock has a circular box supported by two figures of the child-god Bacchus with their backs leaning on it. The clocks face is white with black Arab numbers and is in an impeccable condition. It is decorated with a delicate motive of colorful flowery garlands. The metal hands are golden and show a filigree design. Over the clock, a beautiful bronze crowning piece depicts an allegory of music in the shape of a still life. The clock stands on a bronze base with a sculptural detail in the center depicting two crossed and tied torches. This is a Masonic symbol symbolizing purification and union. The candelabra that flank the clock are also shaped like child Bacchus. The sculptures are similar to the ones holding the clock, but in this case they are facing abreast. The figures hands rest on their bellies and they are looking down in a concentrated attitude. From their armpits emerge the candelabra arms, molded like wavy fig branches. At the end of each arm rest a candle holder, shaped like cups and decorated with garland. The candelabra stand on bronze marble bases, and these are put on thick white marble pieces supported by small bronze legs. The pagan charm and sculptural beauty of this antique set will make it shine in the loveliest living room. Measurements: Clock: Width: 7.8 in / 20 cm. Height: 10.2 in /26 cm.
