This beautiful decorative set, composed of a clock with ball face and two candelabra, is a wonderful and antique piece made in France in the 19th century. The three objects are wonderfully preserved, with no broken or missing parts. The clock and the candelabra boast a sculptural design, very romantic and full of charm. The pieces depict delicate figures of naked Cupids sitting in gracious poses. The clock is composed of an ample ormolu base with a big black ball-shaped face. It chimes the hours and the halves and its movement has been fully fine-tuned in order to guarantee a perfect working order. It has golden metal Roman numbers and preserves the original winding key. At the back, a glass door lets us see the inner 8 days Paris movement: it bears the mark of Japy Fréres clockmakers and the number 141 engraved in the metal. On the black face rests a gorgeous crowning piece composed of a fine woman bust over the sea waves, with a bunch of flowers and a still life with a row. Behind the clocks face, two little Cupids rest in a relaxing attitude. The symmetrical candelabra that accompany the clock are similar in style and are also made of golden bronze. Each one depicts a naked kid covered by a cloth, sitting on a classical base and holding the arms with the candle holders. The kids are in a complicated position, full of movement and charm. The candle holders and the arms that support them are also classical, like the base. At the top we can see a medallion with a woman`s profile, probably a goddess; at the base there is an oval containing a bow with its arrows and a torch. Because of its richness and artistic design, this mantel clock and candelabra set is bound to shine in a magnificent living room. Measurements: Clock: Width: 10.6 in / 27 cm. Height: 13.7 in / 35 cm.
