French clock with pendulum in the form of a lyre. 1870

Precious French clock 58 cms high with a rare liray shape in perfect working condition from the last half of the 19th century. The clock sits on a marble base and is of the pendulum type. The dial is of decorated porcelain and is magnificent. The clock, machinery and pendulum have matching serial numbers, 234, indicating that they are all original factory parts. The dial crystal is domed and is the original. The machinery is signed Japy Freres and gives the hours and half hours. It is an extraordinary watch.
