Decorative French Columned Mantel Clock with Garniture. 1880. Magnificent piece consisting of a clock accompanied by two stylized vases. The clock with a quadrangular base in white marble with veining, on which sits a spectacular architectural form with classical columns that hold the decorative clock in its central part, is undoubtedly the highlight. Circular white lacquered dial with Arabic numerals bordered by decorative roses making half circles and golden hands decorated with an original vegetal fretwork. The dial is in perfect condition, perfect, without any hair. In the center of the dial appears "E. Dreb X. Valognes. Paris movement signed by "Delorme & Cie, Paris" with hour and half-hour chiming. The cylindrical clock is decorated with gilt bronze vegetal decoration in the form of garlands and lateral pinnacles, topped with a spectacular cornice formed by a bundle of arrows with a wreath of flowers. The decorative gilded pendulum represents the image of a lion's head with the rays of the sun very much in the revival style characteristic of the period. The garnish is composed of two vases with marble body and vegetal decoration following the style of the clock. The clock is in perfect condition, both aesthetically and functionally. It attaches the original key and pendulum, and is ready to strike the hours. The first clocks, made with weights, were necessarily hung on the wall. With the invention of the spring mechanism in the seventeenth century it was possible to unhang them and move them from place to place. These first clocks did not appear in France until 1750, and it took a decade for them to become established in England. They were commonly called mantel clocks because of the place where they were placed in the house, around which the whole family gathered. The designs would evolve in shape as the styles of the time developed. During the 19th century, and more specifically at the end, a series of revival styles evoking past styles such as baroque or neoclassical, as in this example, were developed. We can find the most varied mantel clocks, often accompanied by complementary pieces in the same style, combining functionality and aesthetics in equal parts. A piece for demanding collectors who wish to listen to the hours in a very special way. 40 x 22 x 13 cm (clock); 28 x 8 x 8 x 8 cm (lining). This is a simply fantastic clock. This is a sublime rarity. It is a French scribe-clock entirely made of solid silver. The watch is in perfect working condition and has hour and half-hour chimes. The set was evidently made with the intention of decorating the desk of an important house. It is complete. The top part is a bell used to call the domestic staff. The clock is contrasted throughout and I have photographed some punches. They are French contrasts for silver export. The base has the hallmark of the French silversmith Emile Hugo used from 1840 to 1879. The clock measures 45 cm high x 43 cm wide x 25 cm deep. The clock weighs over 2 kilos of silver, without the machinery. In perfect working condition, hours and half hours chiming, and Paris machinery overhauled and checked. Roman numerals, pendulum and key included. Patinated body and gilded bronze appliques. Measures 58 cm x 26 cm x 13 cm. Late 19th century antique pendulum clock in calamine. Porcelain dial with Roman numerals, in perfect condition. Paris movement with hour and half hour chime. The clock measures 35 cms width, 35 cms height and 15 cms depth. Antique wooden mantel clock, in perfect working order. From the first quarter of the 20th century. The clockwork is in perfect working order. Hours and half hours chime. Pendulum and key included. Measures 40 cm x 20 cm x 12 cm. In excellent working condition. Paris movement with hour and half hour chime, in perfect condition, checked and inspected. Porcelain dial with central bronze rosette and hand numbering. It is perfect. Pendulum and key included. Measures 51 cm x 33 cm x 12 cm (20 inches x 13 inches x 4.7 inches). Beautiful walnut mantel clock from the famous Junghans clock house. The clock is in perfect working order and gives the hours and half hours. The frontispiece is of classic structure and opens to show the machinery and the pendulum (pendulum and key are included). The machinery has been thoroughly tested and is in superb running condition. The wood has no woodworm holes, past or present, and is in superb condition. It measures 50 cm high x 30 cm wide x 16 cm deep. Extraordinary French patinated bronze clock, made at the end of the 19th century. In working order. It has a Paris movement of 8 days and an hour and a half chime. The movement has been verified by a Paris movement expert, and, as I said, is in perfect working condition. Both the dial and movement are signed. The movement, pendulum and frame have matching serial numbers, 1390. This indicates that they are the original components, which is rare, as it was very easy for the pendulum to get lost over the years. Personally, I think this watch is a real beauty. Just take a look at the photos. The clock measures 42 cms high, 31 cms wide and 12 cms deep (16.5 inches high x 12.2 inches wide and 4.7 inches deep) Each candlestick measures 48 cms high by 16 cms wide by 8 cms deep (18.9 inches high, 6.3 inches wideand 3.2 inches deep). Lovely French portico clock with four columns in ebonized wood, finished in ebony tone, and mercury gilded bronze appliques. In excellent condition and working order, its year of manufacture is around 1860. It has an hour and half-hour chime and comes with its key. The dial is surrounded by bronze decoration, also gilded with mercury, representing vegetal motifs. The hour numerals are Roman numerals. The enamel is in an impressive state of preservation, with a surface free of cracks and hairs. The machinery is signed by the brand Vincenti & Cie - Medaille d'Argent and plays hours and half hours. It is a Paris-type 8-day winding machinery. Its contrasts also indicate the denomination of the Paris marketing house, Roblin jewelry and watchmaking. The pendulum is also gilded with mercury gilding and following the same ornamental line. The whole has a very neat finish, with a shiny lacquer on the wood and a bright gold color on the metal that enhances its beauty. It is, therefore, a clock that does not go unnoticed in any room. Measurements: 46 cms (height), 24,5 cms (width), 14 cms (depth). Antique oil clock manufactured in the 19th century, very well preserved and with original vintage blown glass ampoule. The pewter body is stylized and elegant, and in its upper part it holds the ampoule destined to contain the fluid. On the ring that supports it we can see the hours in Roman numerals engraved in the metal. The operation of this oil clock is very simple: after filling the ampoule with lamp oil, the wick is lit at the beginning of the day. As the wick is consumed, the oil level goes down and marks the time on the graduated scale. In addition to functioning as clocks, these curious devices also served as lamps. The clock shown in the photos has a stamp engraved on the base: it features two schematic figures ringing a large bell, above the inscription ETAIN FIN 95% (95% Fine Tin).
