Antique mantel clock made in Germany in the 1930s, in very good condition and working perfectly. This clock has a hand-carved oak wooden box, decorated with simple and stylish moldings and vegetal motives. The clocks movement has been fully revised and cleaned in order to guarantee an optimal performance, so today it works wonderfully. It has gong chimes which provide a wonderful sound; it is a real pleasure to listen to the clock when it chimes the hours and the halves. The oak wooden box has been fully restored. It preserves all its original component parts and shows no flaws, cracks or missing parts. The wood is protected with a lovely French-polish finish, a classic technique that enhances the wood colors. This way, the golden-brown color and deep veneer of the oak wood really stand out under the finishs satin glow. The carved moldings depict volutes and stylized leaves, all of them skillfully performed. The clock stands on an ample base carved directly in the wood, with four small gracious curved legs. In the center of the box reigns the big circular face framed by a golden brass ring and with the original glass door. The face is white, with black Arab numbers and metal hands. At the back of the box we can see a small door that lets us reach the movement, which bears the number 18cn / 158 engraved in the metal. The beauty and good working order of this clock turn it into a decorative and functional jewel, ancient and exclusive. Measurements: Width: 13.3 in / 34 cm. Height: 11 in / 28 cm.
