Amazing mantel clock and twin candelabra set, made of bronze and in amazing condition. The three pieces were made in France in the 19th century and in spite of being quite ancient, they have survived to our days in excellent condition. The clocks movement has been carefully fine-tuned by professional watchmakers and currently works fine. It chimes the hours and halves. This stunning bronze set is a very special and beautiful piece; these features, together with its ancient age, create a really interesting item for any collector. The clock is temple-shaped and boasts a baroque, classic-inspired decoration full of moldings, volutes and details. It stands on five delicately-curved legs that support an ample and solid box. Under the clocks face, a fine classic mask smiles on a background of Pompeian-style decoration. The face is made of bronze with inlaid white-and-blue-porcelain Roman numbers. The top of the clock is decorated with many golden-bronze volutes and details, fine and airy. At the back there is a rear glass door that lets us reach the movement; this bears the engraved serial number 1458. It includes its pendulum and key. The candelabra are also very decorative and stylish pieces. They are twin and stand on bases with the same design as the clocks but smaller in size. Each candelabrum is decorated with masks, vases, volutes and other classic-style details. Over the base we can see a bronze vase that supports the top part, composed of four arms with their respective lights. Crowning each candelabrum there is another light rising elegantly over the rest of the piece. This gorgeous mantel clock and candelabra set is a charismatic and classy piece, worthy of the most beautiful dining room. Measurements: Clock: Width: 11.8 in / 39 cm. Height: 21.6 in / 55 cm.
