Decorative mantle clock in gilded bronze. Second half of the XIX century. The magnificent clocks shows off on a wide basement of decorative shapes, made of greatly majestic volutes and details carved on an original parchment decoration. We also find a wavy lateral snake and a pretty cherub sitting on it, symbolizing Cupid. The scene shows the moment when Cupid notices the presence of the snake, and he is staring at it with his bow up. The bow Cupid is holding has been restored, aesthetically the piece is in good conditions and it is really beautiful. The simple white face with black-lacquered Roman numbers and magpie-shaped needles, is surrounded by a nice pearly decoration which harmonizes with the rest of the piece. The face is in good conditions. The rear is open, showing the machinery. 8-day Paris movement, chiming the hours and the half hours. It is stamped with the letters P. R. and the serial number: 2840. The clock is in excellent conditions: it looks great and works perfectly. It is completely checked and ready to use from the very first day. Measurements: 42 x 30 x 12 cm
