Fine set of desktop clock and a candelabra set, made in France at the end of the 19th century. The clock is a really striking piece, with a front glass window which lets us see the beautiful pendulum inside. The pendulum bob is shaped and engraved like a sun with a face, and it is also made of golden bronze. At the rear we can see a discreet mesh engraving, while the whole box is decorated with baroque volutes. The clock is crowned by a big cup or fountain, also adorned with waves and volutes. The clock chimes every hour and half hour. One of the most attractive points of this article is the clock face. It is made of white porcelain with black and red numbers, and it has a very special detail: a colorful flower garland, skillfully hand-painted. A charming feature which undoubtedly highlights this wonderful antique. The face is well preserved and except for a small dent at the top right (which remains hidden when the glass door is closed), it is in very good condition. The candelabra are also well preserved, and there are a stylish and chic couple of pieces. They can hold four candles each. The clocks movement has been revised and adjusted to guarantee a perfect working. It is signedl: Medaille DArgent (Silver Medal) VINCENT & Cie. 1855. At the top we can also see the inscription A-1 into an oval and just under the stamp rests the serial number: 8299.It is certainly a great acquisition which will fill the most prestigious collector with pride.Measurements: Clock: 220 mm width x 380 mm height.
