Fine pendulum mantel clock made in France circa 1900 and in great condition. The clock has solid oak wooden casing, very well preserved and fully restored. The wood boasts a lovely golden-brown color and is enhanced with fine hand-carved classic details. The clock shows off a clear architectural-inspired style, elegant and timeless, that turns it into the perfect piece to decorate any space. The movement has also been fully cleaned and overhauled; it is a pendulum movement that chimes the hours and the halves, precise and reliable. The clocks box is composed of an ample square concave base that stands on four small legs, scarcely visible. This base supports a semicircular casing which contains the movement with the dial. The dial is located in the center of the casing and is flanked by two semi-columns, decorated with side moldings. The columns are trimmed by a grooved arch that frames the top of the dial. The moldings are also crowned by small pinnacle-shaped wooden details. The whole piece is stylish and sober and stands out for its balanced design. The dial is made of white-enameled metal, with black Roman numerals and straight hands with circles. It bears the printed inscription HRY. MARC PARIS and is framed by a brass ring. The pendulum mvement that we can reach through the rear door is also marked with this inscription; it could correspond to Henri Marc, a Parisian clock distributor that traded with Japy Freres clocks, among others. The clocks movement bears the serial number 35550 engraved in the brass body too. For its formal elegance and excellent working order, this clock deserves to shine in the most visible place of a stylish living room. Measurements: Width: 12.7 in / 32.5 cm. Height: 10.6 in / 27 cm.
