This is a simply fantastic watch. This is a sublime rarity. It is a French scrivener's watch made entirely of solid silver. The clock is in perfect working condition and has an hour and half-hour chime. The set was evidently made with the intention of decorating the desk of an important house. It is complete. The top part is a bell used to call the domestic staff. The clock is contrasted throughout and I have photographed some punches. They are French contrasts for silver export. The base has the hallmark of the French silversmith Emile Hugo used from 1840 to 1879. The clock measures 45 cm high x 43 cm wide x 25 cm deep. The clock weighs over 2 kilos of silver, without the machinery.
