Striking French mantelpiece clock and candelabra set, made of fine porcelain and gilded bronze between 1856 and 1860. This set is in great condition, keeping all its charm and beauty intact. The porcelain is of good quality and bears a white and blue decoration, while the bronze is as shiny as the first day. The porcelain is signed; the three pieces bear the signature at the base. The clock works perfectly and its movement has been revised and adjusted. The clock is a very special piece because its particular configuration. Differently from what uses to happen, in this case the movement is located between the clock and the vase-shaped base on which it seats. We can see the small pendulum just between both parts, so the clock seems to be floating in the air. Actually it is supported by two decorative bronze volutes engraved in the shape of angels busts and floral motives, which serve both as supporting pieces and decorative details. The clocks face is decorated with elegant classical numbers and keeps the original key. The three pieces have a porcelain body with white background and blue decoration. The three pieces are signed at the base. The patterns depict Oriental inspired flowers, plants, birds and abstract designs. The porcelain is signed in the three pieces and we can see such signature at the pieces bases, just under the pedestal. The candelabra are designed to hold four candles each, and are complete and intact; the fine bronze volutes and moldings which make up the top parts are really beautiful. This bronze and porcelain set is as antique as appealing, and it is a really luxurious and valuable piece which will stand out in the decoration of the most special room.
