Mantle clock and candelabra set made of golden bronze, big in size and dating from the 19th century, probably between 1870 and 1900. It is a striking three-piece set, which attracts our attention because of its profuse decoration and the excellent condition it shows. The clock works perfectly and is very well preserved, both the movement and the bronze box, and the face is in particular good condition. It is intact, with no hairs or dents, and the delicate decoration that accompanies the black numbers is really charming. The movement bears a stamp where we can see a horseshoe-shaped logo and the word PARIS, with the serial number 81140 and a J. This stamp indicates that this clock has a Paris movement, which works perfectly as it has been revised and adjusted. The clock has a rectangular box composed of bronze intertwined volutes, which make up an openwork pattern. This nice box seats on a square base with four ornamental legs. From the box, two vegetal-shaped volutes emerge and spread over the base, as if they belonged to some twining plant. The clock is crowned by a decorative top, formed by a cup-shaped detail from which more volutes emerge as if it were part of a fountain. The candelabra are decorated in a similar way and match the clock perfectly. Their four candle holders stand on a square base of the same kind of the clocks box. The candelabra are very well preserved, and their top boasts a nice detail with the shape of two open wings. The golden bronze is in excellent condition, and its filigrees and volutes turn this set in a real state-of-art article. This mantle clock and the candelabra that accompany it are surely a exceptional set because of its striking looks, ancient age and artistic making. Measurements: Clock: 330 mm width x 750 mm height. Candelabra: 315 mm width x 720 mm height.
