Striking mystery mantel clock made by Junghans in 1905. This is a sculptural clock, an exclusive piece because of its impressive beauty and its origin: it was manufactured by a very prestigious company. The mystery name given to this kind of clocks refers to the absence of a pendulum bob in the movement. It is actually the clock itself that acts as a pendulum bob and swings to generate the operation of the inside movement. The clock hangs from a beautiful Art Noveau sculpture depicting a young woman who holds it in her right hand. It is made of bronze and stands on a discreet wooden base. The clock was made in the early 20th century by Junghans clock manufacturing company. We can deduce this from the logo printed in the face: a J inside an eight-pointed star. Junghans is currently Germanys largest watch and clock manufacturer and has developed greatly since it was founded in 1861. Edgard Junghans established the company in Scrhamberg, and from then on it has grown until achieving its current prestige. This particular clock is really beautiful and its sculptural quality is probably its most remarkable feature. The female figure that holds the clock is lovely and stands out in a lively and dynamic pose. The wind models the womans gown so it fits to her body, creating delicate and realistic folds. At her feet, some bronze roses fall on the shiny dark wooden base. At the top of the figure, the womans back and right arm show some slight flaws that a good professional will restore easily. This wonderful Junghans Art Noveau clock is a real collectors item, fit to decorate the smartest home.Measurements: The clock measures 33 cms from the tip to of the movemet to the wooden base
