Lovely French mantel clock made of ebony-finished wood, decorated with semi precious inlaid decoration. This is a portico-style clock made in 1880 that looks as beautiful as the first day of use and works perfectly too, having been fully revised and adjusted. Although this is a very antique piece, this clock is highly decorative and fashionable. Its lovely and careful decoration turns it into a wonderful work of art instead of a simple artisanal piece. The clocks box is a light structure made up by a rectangular base and a similar top crowned by an ornamental detail. Between them four wavy spiral columns stand on the base and support the top, making place for the clocks face and pendulum bob. This particular set is made of golden metal and the face is enameled in white, bearing black Roman numbers. The circular frame that decorates the white face, and the pendulum bob are made of embossed metal. The bob bears an engraved motive in its center depicting a charming kids or teenagers face, maybe an angel. The box is made of wood with a faux-ebony finish that provides it with a deep shiny black color. The top and the bottom are decorated with inlaid mother-of-pearl, tortoise shell, polished brass and pink and turquoise semi-precious stones. If we watch this clock from behind we will see the delicate movement and the bell that chimes the hours and the halves. In essence, this piece is in really good condition and only shows some slight flaws at the faces border that in no way spoil its great beauty and decorative quality. This fine clock is a stylish and classy article whose timeless beauty will bring any room to life with its single presence.Measurements: Width: 240 mm.
