Smart English mantel clock with a nice and simple design. This clock has a solid mahogany box with mother-of-pearl inlays and draws our attention because of its modern lines and original look. It was made in 1900 so it is more than one hundred years old; even so, it has survived to our days in great condition. The clock works perfectly and has been fully revised and adjusted. The mahogany box is composed of various pieces harmoniously disposed and is embellished by mother-of-pearl inlays that make a nice contrast with the golden reddish color of the wood. The inlays are circular and are symmetrically distributed all over the clock. As well as this decoration, the item has also a pineapple-shaped metal top and two side rings made of the same material. The rings hang from similar metal details in the shape of a bunch of flowers. The old-looking metal shows off the patina of time as a testimony of this clocks long life. The wooden box is in good condition and shows no broken parts or visible flaws, boasting its nice finish in harmony with the clocks attractive design. The clocks movement is antique and precise. It is a nice escapement movement made in Switzerland, in perfect condition and working order. The metal bears some engraved inscriptions among which the one indicating the movements place of making stands out: MADE IN SWITZERLAND. On the other hand, inside the door that lets us reach the movement there is an old red label stack to the wood. Though it is slightly worn we can still read the printed inscription: E. SHILLING Watch & Clock Maker Silversmith & Jeweller Milton. All these features turn this lovely English clock into a collectors piece whose original design will be perfect to provide a modern living room with a touch of class.Measurements: Width: 330 mm. Height: 400 mm.
