Interesting Medal of Constancy of the Youth Front, Category Gold, with a personalized inscription at the rear where we can read the name of the awarded: Juro vivir en santa Hermandad con todos los de la Falange José Antonio Serrano Montalvo (I swear to live in holy brotherhood with everyone at the Falange"). This medal was awarded in the 1960s, and it is a distinction given by the Youth Front (Frente de Juventudes). This organization emerged in the Spanish Fascist Falange in 1940. For a long time, the SEU (Spanish University Sindicate) was integrated into the Youth Front. Jose Antonio Serrano Montalvo was precisely a Local Chief of the SEU for some time, and his performance was quite significant for the Union. The medal is beautifully made, being manufactured in golden silver and enameled in several colors. A beam of arrows is engraved into a golden circle; the arrows are tied by a rope, and they are one of the symbols of Spanish Falange. The bottom half of the circle is surrounded by two branches in green and red, while the upper half shows a semi-circular red fringe in which we can read this inscription: Inasequible al desaliento (Inaccessible to discouragement). The medal hangs from a dark blue ribbon, with a fastening device and a ring in golden silver. Curiously enough, the number of expedition is not engraved in the rear inscription and the corresponding field is empty. The Youth Front was an organization dedicated to physical, political, sports and pre-military education addressed to Spanish young men until the age of 21. In the first stage, from 1940 to 1961, the Fronts approach was specially aimed to military subjects and political indoctrination, always following the ideology of the Falange. From then on, the organization lost part of its military and political character and in 1977 disappeared and become the National Delegacy of Youth. This medal is a faithful testimony of those times and a fine historical and military piece, worthy of the best collection.
