This medal is the Victor Medal of the SEU (Spanish University Union, a political organization which belonged to the Spanish Falange in times of Franco). It is a bronze piece, which depicts the symbol of the Victor. This symbol has also the name of Victorious or Symbol of Victory, and it was first used in the Roman Empire. It is thought that it comes from the crismon, a Christian symbol. Some universities also adopted the emblem, i. e. the University of Salamanca, which started to use it in the 14th century. The symbol is an acronym composed of the letters which form the word VICTOR. Curiously enough, there are studies that believe that someone added esoteric elements to the acronym to protect Franco, and there is even people who think that it may have a Masonic symbolism. This piece is in good condition. The medal hangs from a light green band, and it is linked to it by a connection in the shape of a crown of laurels (the classical symbol of victory). Green colour band is a distinction for Military Merits. All these features turn this medal into a very special and rare piece, which deserves a very special place in the most demanding collectors showcase.
