Cross Of Merit in Campaign medal for officers of the Spanish Civil War, truly original and in good condition. This fine medal, also known as War Cross, greatly preserved. The base is a rusted-silver plate composed of rays or flashes, with a delicate golden piece on top. This piece is composed of four arms, a laurel wreath and a central circle. Each arm has a symbol: a top crown (with a metal rectangle to engrave the date of concession), a rampant lion on each side and a castle at the bottom. The central circle is adorned with the same symbols, corresponding to Castile and Leon, in white, red and navy-blue enamel. The blue ring which frames the circle bears the golden inscription AL MÉRITO EN CAMPAÑA (To Merit in Campaign). For its authenticity and great condition, this Cross Of Merit in Campaign medal for officers of the Spanish Civil War deserves a prominent place in a good collection.
