Antique Charriere Collin Ophthalmological Surgery Set. France, Circa 1900
Antique Charriere Collin ophthalmological surgery set, made in France circa 1900 and in very good condition. The case hides a complete antique toolkit for surgery practice, though not all tools are marked Charriere Collin. Many of them bear the L. Mathieu mark, another prestigious manufacturer from the time. The instruments are made of steel and have ivory-white bakelite handles, with the maker’s name marked in capital lettering. Two of them have steel handles. The lid has a removable plate which hides a tray with tweezers and scalpels. The storing case is finely preserved, outside covered by black leather and with a great red satin lining inside. The lining which covers the removable plate shows the printed name and city of the maker in golden lettering: MON. CHARRIERE COLIN & CIE – À PARIS.
As complete as fascinating, this antique Charriere Collin ophthalmological surgery set will arouse the interest of collectors and lovers of old-time medical practice.
