Antique Charriere Collin Ophthalmological Surgery Set. Complete. France, Circa 1900

Antique Charriere Collin ophthalmological surgery set, complete, made in France circa 1900 and in excellent condition. The storing case is made of wood, covered by black leather outside and with a fine red satin lining inside. It contains a complete set of tools for ophthalmological surgery, made of steel and brass (depending on which) and with ivory-white bakelite handles. The handles are marked with the manufacturer’s name in capital letters, all the instruments belonging to the same set. The case’s lid has a removable plate which hides some other accessories such as some suture needles, two types of tweezers and a tool for keeping the eye open during the operation. The red lining of the plate bears the printed manufacturer’s name in golden lettering, MON. CHARRIÈRE COLIN & CIE À PARIS.
