This fine piece is a precision scale for pharmacy use, made in France in the 1920s. The scale is in very good condition and as well as being a very decorative item, it is in perfect working order. It is a highly accurate item and can weigh up to milligrams: with this scale the user will be able to weigh even a stamp. The set is composed of the scale itself, made of silvered metal pieces, and a base in the shape of a box that stands on 3 turned silvery metal legs, that can be adjusted in height to level the scale. The box is made of solid beech wood and its top is made of plywood. At the front of the base we can see a drawer with the instruction booklet inside. Nevertheless, the drawer is actually designed to store the different components of the scale when disassembled and carry them comfortably. In order to prevent the pieces to move and deteriorate, the drawer has some stands attached to its bottom with mobile lids that hold the metal pieces and prevent them from moving. On the top we can also see a plastic orange capsule: it is an original bubble level that is currently not working. This piece, though, is not strictly necessary to operate the scales and get incredible accurate results. The silvery metal the scale is made of is in good condition, showing only slight signs of wear and rust, almost imperceptible. On the top of the base, behind the scale we can see a metal plate wood with the following embossed inscription: Balance de Précision TESTUT 8 Rue Popincourt PARIS. These words tell us about the manufacturers name and address, information we can also find at the instruction booklet. This delicate precision scale is undoubtedly a collectors item, perfect to decorate a chemists or a great professional study.Measurements: Width: 300 mm/11.8 in.
