Fantastic Spanish Precision Balance in Good Condition and Working. Spain, 1930's

This beautiful precision scale is a great scientific instrument, made in Spain and in very good working order. It boasts a very decorative aesthetic and is around 80 years old, being in good condition and preserving an impeccable precision. The scale is made of golden brass, with silvery metal pans and holders. The beam bears the manufacturers name (J. COBOS) and logo engraved in the metal; the logo depicts a balance scale framed inside a circle. Both inscription corresponds to a Catalonian company named Balanzas Cobos (Cobos Scales), founded in 1908 to manufacture precision weigh instruments and still active. The beam also bears an engraved inscription that indicates the scales sensitiveness, 1/2000. The scale stands on a beautiful base made of solid oak wood, with a front drawer designed to contain the weighs. The top is made of black-lacquered wood, with a lovely polished and shiny surface that provides the piece with a singular charm.
