This amazing piece is an antique medical pump set for professional use, made in England circa 1900. The set contains an impeller pump, two flexible sleeves and several nozzles for different uses. All the instruments and accessories are stored in their original solid wooden case, very decorative and in excellent condition. The set is a piece with an undeniable charm and its turn-of-the-century look turns it into a very special item. It is complete, with all its original components tidily stored in their own compartments. The tools contained in the case were designed to perform gastric irrigations, enemas and vaginal douches. In order to perform this operation, the doctor must use the bigger and more important tool: the cylindrical pump made of golden brass. The two sleeves and the three nozzles can be interchanged for the different independent usages. The metal pieces are all made of golden brass: the metal surface looks shiny and polished, with no traces of rust or wear. The pump handle and the nozzles are made of bone and their attractive off-white color combines greatly with the bright metal. The pump works perfectly and the sleeves and nozzles fit well. This way, the tool can be assembled in order to see how it looked like when it was in use. The case where the pump and the accessories are stored is made of solid mahogany wood in good condition. The lid bears an embedded oval brass plate in the center, designed to bear the engraved owners name. The wood is protected by a nice French-polish finish, warm and shiny. Inside the case is covered by luxurious dark purple velvet, greatly preserved. The golden brass tools shine greatly over the dark and rich fabric. Complete and in excellent condition, this ancient equipment set will shine in a showcase with medical antiques. Measurements: Width: 12.2 in /31 cm. Depth: 6.2 in /16 cm.
