Curious antique sthetoscope made of solid wood with ebonized finished and in good condition. This is a piece for medical use and was made during the first quarter of the 20th century. It is composed of two parts connected together by means of a screw; this feature turns the item into an easy-to-carry piece. One of the pieces is a conical-shaped rod with a semi-sphere connected to a small screw. The screw is connected to a wider circular piece. In order to use the item, the doctor should connect both parts and put the wider end in contact with the patients chest. When the doctor put his or her ear in contact with the other end, he or she would listen to the patients heartbeat or breathing. The stethoscope preserves the original black finish, slightly worn in some places but in general good condition. This ancient ebonized stethoscope is a museum piece, perfect to complete a good collection of medical antiques. Measurements: Length: 5.5 in / 14 cm. Bases Width: 1.7 in / 4.5 cm.
