Great collection of tools used for the dissection of specimens, preserved in their original solid wooden case. This item, in quite good condition, dates from the 1920 and is very complete. The tools are well preserved and are all original from the time, showing off a wide array of tools for different functions. This case probably belonged to a veterinary or a medicine, veterinary or science student. It contains all kind of pieces: from a complete collection of scalpels to needles for sutures. The tools are organized both into the box itself and inside the lid. The box has a longitudinal wooden separator that divides the space in two: a wider container for the scalpels and a narrower place for the dissection needles. The lid contains the hemostat, the pointed scissors, the curved suture needles and a ring with three chains with a hook at their ends. The collection of scalpels, made of steel and with black wooden handles, is complete and in good condition. These utensils are fitted in two grooved wooden pieces that keep them in their place inside the case. The box itself is quite beautiful: it is made of solid oak wood, with a lovely light golden color and delicate veneer. It is very well preserved and outside is protected by a subtle satin finish that enhances the color of the wood. The case keeps the original metal closure system. This set of dissection tools can be the best gift for a professional willing to appreciate the most special antiques. Measurements: Width: 8.2 in/21 cm. Depth: 3.9 in/10 cm.
