Curious French collection of medicines from the beginning of the 20th century. It is a set of bottles, flasks, ampoules and boxes which contain medicinal products from the beginning of the century. This collection is especially interesting as the bottles and boxes still keep some remains of the original medicines. As well as the bottles, the collection has some special items such as a small urgency kit to treat or prevent diseases (tuberculosis, arteriosclerosis). This kit was composed of several ampoules (there are still four left) into a metal box. The cover is engraved with this inscription: POCHETTE MÉDICALE DURGENCE (urgency medical case). Among the products that make up this interesting medicinal compendium we can find potassium permanganate, potassium chlorine or eucalyptus scent. There are also other remedies which are scarcely used today, such as ammonia liquor, and some other that have been retired (i.e. tincture of quinine). All the bottles are labeled and some of them bear hand-written inscriptions. One of the most curious items of this set of medicines is a small cardboard box which contains anti-asthmatic cigarettes. There are six white cigarettes packaged under this label: CIGARETTES ANTI-ASTHMATIQUES . On the label we can read that there are three type-1 units (stronger) and three type-2 cigarettes (weaker). It is a very original detail which provides this set of medicines with more charm and interest. This is undoubtedly the perfect piece to complete the best collection of antique chemists material.
