Attractive precision scales for pharmaceutical use, dating from the 1940s. It is a professional item, in very good condition and with a weight set only lacking one piece. This fine vintage scale has many years of use behind it, being therefore full of charm and history. It is made of metal with a solid wooden base, which combines two kind of wood: oak and beech. The base has two small front drawings, one of which is meant to house the pans. The other has different compartments to store the weights. Both are covered with checked paper.The scale is in good condition and shows an attractive blued tone. The scale on the central pillar bears the following inscription: AGT. GES. WENDEROTH CASSEL, which indicates that this piece comes from Germany. On the central pillar, just over the scale, there is an oval dark crimson sticker with an inscription in black lettering which says: Eichverwaltung 76 Geeicht Bis 1973 soweit amtl. Eichzeichen unverletz. This means that the scale was checked and calibrated in 1973. The metal parts (stirrups, central pillar and pans) are in good condition, with slight signs of pitting easy to restore. This signs are a testimony of the times when the scale was used and are part of its personality. The bases worktop where the scale stands is covered by a dark green protecting material. The wood is also in good condition, with no broken or missing part and keeping its original finish. It combines the beautiful oak veneer of the drawers with the subtle golden color of the beech wood. The scale is in good working order and the weight set also includes some accessories to prepare master formulas: thongs, spatulas and spoons. This is undoubtedly a wonderful vintage object, full of charm and which will delight any collector of chemistry related pieces. Measurements: 520 mm width x 530 mm height.
