Antique Precision Balance, Circa 1900.

Fine antique precision scale in very good condition, in working order and with a high decorative power. The scale is dated in the early 20th century (circa 1900) and is greatly preserved. It is a remarkable piece for its great sensitivity: the brass pans get unbalanced with just two hundredths of a gram, and this feature turns the scale into an exclusive and high-quality item. It comes with a weigh set which includes two micro-weighs, of 5 and 2 tenths of a gram respectively. The weigh set is complete except for the smallest piece, a 1-gram weigh. The weighs are organized in a solid-wooden stand which can be stored into the bases drawer. The base is made of solid wood too; the scale itself is mounted on top of it. It is fully made of brass; the metal is finely preserved and looks shiny and even, with no remarkable flaws and with the lovely patina created by the trace of time. The mechanism includes a brass lever designed to balance the scale in order to get the maximum precision.
