Antique Down Bros medical hand pump for gastric lavages, made in England in the 19th century. The pump comes in its original solid mahogany wooden case, greatly preserved and with the inner blue velvet lining in fine condition too. The device preserves all its accessories except for one of the cannulas. Aesthetically is an exceptionally-looking piece, perfect to be exhibited; as for its working order, it is currently blocked but we think it could be put in operation again. The rubber tubes have dried up are now hard, as it usually happens with rubber pieces. The pumps body is made of brass and bears the embossed manufacturers name: DOWN BROS LONDON. The metal is in great condition, just like the white plastic handle and the green fabric that covers the tubes. The mahogany wood the case is made of also preserves its great beauty; at the center of the lid we can see an embedded oval brass plate with no inscriptions. This antique Down Bros medical hand pump for gastric lavages is a real collectors piece, an item bound to stand out. Dimensions: Width: 12.2 in / 30 cm. Depth: 6 in / 15 cm.
