Awesome set of 5 antique hand-blown opaline glass pharmacy bottles, made in Spain in 1940 and in remarkable good condition. Though being so fragile, the bottles have survived to our days complete and with no cracks, hairlines or dents. They stand out for the beauty of the material they are made of, a translucent white glass with fine blue shades. Opaline glass started being manufactured in France in the early 19th century; it is a vitreous material similar to the Venetian milk glass and the white glass traditionally produced in Bristol. The popularity of this glass reached its peak during the reign of Napoleon, being then made in different French cities such as Baccarat and in some English locations too. Each bottle is a unique piece with a capacity of 550 ml; in fact, each lid can only be inserted in the mouth of a particular bottle and does not fit in any others.
