Original Collin surgical tool case with ancient utensils. Different types of pieces in good condition. Antique Collin surgical tool case made in France circa 1900 and in fine condition. The case is very complete and preserves the original metal lock in working order. Inside and outside, the leather and the lining show wear; even so, the case keeps its integrity and is still functional to store and carry the surgical tools it contains. The tool set is composed of a series of steel instruments, most of them foldable and with black handles. We can see some knives, scalpels and hooks together with a pair of scissors, spatulas, probes and suture material (needles and thread). Most of them bear the manufacturers name engraved in the metal. The instruments remain in place thanks to the red elastic bands included. Inside the case we can see the manufacturers name and address, COLLIN ET CIE., embossed in golden lettering and in fine condition. Outside the case bears an embossed name. DR. E. PETITBIEN, probably the original owner of the tool set. This antique Collin surgery case is an exceptional piece which documents the practice of surgery in the early 20th century.
