Sevcik pharmaceutical device to make medical or pharmaceutical wafers made in the early 20th century. This singular item comes from Germany and is a very rare piece, a great find for any collector. Inside a lovely solid-mahogany box with foldable top and front sides we find four metal trays, each one bound to make pharmaceutical wafers of different sizes. The trays are numbered 0, 00, 1 and 2. Each one bears an embossed inscription reading SEVCICKS OBLATEN-VERSCHLUSS APPARAT ALLEIVERKAUF. The inscription, can also be found printed on the inner red lining of the boxs lid, together with a coat of arms and a paper sticker. Together with the trays (all of them with their original lid and hinges), the set includes two metal measuring cups. Medicinal cachets were invented in the late 19th century by the renowned French pharmacist Stanilas Limousin; these devices were used to make and sell them.
