Antique unsigned brass microscope made in Great Britain circa 1860. This is a beautiful device that works perfectly and comes in its original light wooden case. The microscope keeps all its original parts, and the objectives and magnifying glass are in excellent condition. The brass is as shiny as when the instrument was made, showing only very slight signs of the trace of time that just enhance its elegant presence. Inside the wooden box we also find a series of accessories and samples that together with the microscope make up a highly attractive set. The microscope stands on a light wooden plank and is supported by two solid black-enameled legs. This lovely article comes with an independent magnifying glass to concentrate light attached to a slim stand, also made of brass. The whole set boasts a stylized and singularly balanced design that differentiates it from the classical vintage microscopes we are used to see. The item has an objective and the typical oscillating mirror located under the sample plate; both pieces are in perfect condition. The original box designed to store the instrument is made of light colored wood. It keeps the metal handle attached to its top and at the bottom it has a small drawer containing the sample plates. The ones that come with this microscope are from the time when the instrument was made and keep different elements to be observed. At the top right corner of the box, a wooden stand with two circular openings holds the cylindrical metal cases designed to protect objectives. This magnificent microscope is surely a highly interesting piece because of its ancient age and original design. It is surely an article worthy of belonging to a museum of scientific devices from the 19th century.Measurements: Width: 170 mm. Height: 310 mm.
