The microscopes turret bears the inscription Busch Rathenow and the serial number 12277 engraved in the metal.Emil Busch was a microscope manufacturer that worked in Rathenow (Germany) between the 19th and 20th centuries. In the beginning the firm was called Optischen Anstalt-Rathenow and later it changed its name to Emil Busch-Rathenow, just when this microscope was made. After II World War the name Busch disappeared and the firm became part of a VEB (a company owned by the citizens) that provided Carl Zeiss Jena with components for about thirty years. The microscope is in quite good condition. The black-enameled finish is well preserved and the polished brass keeps its original lacquer. The instrument only mounts a lens, also signed with the name Busch. In order to store and carry it, the article comes into an elegant and functional mahogany case. The wood boasts the deep reddish color typical of this noble material. The case preserves the original leather handle designed to carry the equipment.Measurements: Width: 120 mm. Height: 300 mm.
