This striking sample preparation set was made in Germany in the early 20th century (circa 1910). The complete set of tools stored into the wooden case is really impressive, being in extremely good condition and boasting a great beauty. The case contains different tools for the preparation of microscope samples, but it also stores a complete array of samples prepared nearly one hundred years ago. A pair of tweezers is missing nevertheless, this set a very interesting and attractive piece that merges the solid woods elegance with the delicate instruments functionality. The case is a solid mahogany box, rectangular in shape and wonderfully preserved. The wood boasts a nice golden color, enhanced by the warm transparent finish that protects the box outside. The metal handle, the hinges and the locks are original and are also in good condition. If we open the case, inside we will find the tools well organized in small wooden planks with compartments carved in the shape of each piece. This way, the utensils can be well organized and remain protected from bumps and dents. The tools are made of steel and some of them have black wooden handles. The set is composed of a group of razors, different kinds of tweezers, scalpels, needles and many other tools needed to prepare the samples. Together with these utensils, the case also contains a cardboard folder with previously prepared sample plates. The folder is in amazing condition and the samples are well classified they bear labels with information in German, written by different hands.
