Stunning microscope made in Germany in the early 20th century, in wooden case and in impressive condition. It works wonderfully and comes with a series of original accessories, also very well preserved. This microscope is a real museum piece because of its aesthetic and quality: it has survived to our days in a surprisingly good condition, looking almost as beautiful and functional as when it was originally made. This device comes from Germany and comes in a custom-made plywood case, perfect to store and protect it. The microscope has no maker marks and preserves all its original component parts. It has a black-enameled bird-claw foot and a turret with similar finish. The lacquered surfaces are in excellent condition: the enamel looks shiny and even. The instrument mounts a 4-lens revolving nosepiece, silvery turret, golden brass eyepiece and screws made of the same metal. All the surfaces look shiny, with scarcely any sign of the trace of time or use. Besides, the brass keeps the original transparent lacquered finish. The case also contains a series of accessories in their beech wooden stand. There are protective sleeves for the lenses, spare eyepieces and a small box with sliding lid designed to contain utensils for the preparation of samples. We can also see a paper sheet with information about the lenses and eyepieces written by hand in black ink. The case is not the original one, but it looks great and is well preserved it was custom-made for the microscope and boasts a fine French-polish finish that protects the outside surface. The lock and the key are in working order. This German microscope will look great in the study or laboratory of a lover of scientific antiques. Measurements: Width: 6.6 in / 17 cm.
