This curious article is a bulls eye magnifying glass on stand, designed to concentrate light and illuminate the samples in antique microscopes. The magnifying glass was made in the late 19th century (circa 1880) and is otherwise in very good condition. It preserves the original lens and the brass component parts that make up the stand. The metal looks great, shiny and with no traces of rust. The glass is connected to the stand by a screw which allows up and down it to direct light precisely. As well as for its original function (concentrating and directing light), this amazing antique magnifying glass can also be used to magnify and watch closely any object. With many years behind and extremely decorative, this microscope magnifying glass will shine in any showcase or on an antique desk. Measurements: Width: 5.3 in / 13.5 cm. Height: 5.9 in / 15 cm.
