Lovely unsigned binocular microscope more than one hundred years old, in very good working order, giving a very clear image and in its original case. This attractive device is an ancient piece, made in the late 19th century and worthy of a great collection of turn-of-the-century scientific articles. The microscope is made of golden brass and cast iron, boasting a great design with an undeniable charm. It mounts two mobile turrets with a lens at the end, a stage for the samples, an oscillating mirror and a mobile diaphragm to graduate the light reflected by the mirror. All the pieces are original and remain in excellent condition. The prism is also in excellent conditions. The microscope stands on a stylized horseshoe-shaped foot made of black cast iron. The mobile parts are made of golden brass, in good condition and preserving the original transparent lacquer that protects the metal surface. The screws and knobs move fluidly and the lens is fully functional, so the microscope can be still used to watch samples (as well as being a great decorative item and a great collectors piece). The beauty of its design matches perfectly with the microscopes functionality. The instrument comes with an ample array of accessories with only one piece missing. The rest of the pieces are in good condition, including a stand magnifier to concentrate the light, a wooden box with antique sample plates, three lenses in their respective brass sleeves, two diaphragms and two eyepieces. The microscope and the accessories can be stored in their original case, made of solid mahogany wood and with delicate dovetail joints at the corners. The case looks great and contains some wooden compartments and stands for the accessories. It preserves the original lock and key in working order. As elegant as authentic, this antique binocular microscope is a collectors piece worthy of the best museum. Measurements: Width: 8.6 in / 22 cm. Height: 16.1 in / 41 cm.
