This attractive antique microscope is a classic turn-of-the-century model. It was made circa 1910 and is signed in the turret by COGIT PARIS. The microscope mounts a three-lens revolving nosepiece and bird-claw foot, being made of enameled cast iron, golden brass and chrome-plated metal. It includes a micrometrical adjustment device to graduate the position of the sample plates on the stage as precisely as possible. All the pieces are original and remain in wonderful condition, with no traces of rust at all. Moreover, the microscope works perfectly. As stated before, the turret bears the engraved name COGIT. This was a French optic material manufactured that distributed Leitz products in this country. One of the lenses included in this microscope are signed by Leitz Wetlza. They are fully functional and show off the great quality that characterizes Leitz products they also bear their corresponding serial numbers engraved in the metal. The black-enameled iron foot boasts a wonderful shiny finish, while the brass still preserves the original transparent lacquer that protects the delicate surface from scratches and wear. The micrometrical adjustment device included works perfectly and lets the user move the plates without touching them, graduating their position to the millimeter. This accessory, together with this microscopes ancient age, great condition and good working order, turn it into an exceptional item.
