Fine golden-brass microscope made in the early 20th century (circa 1900) and in very good condition. The microscope comes in its original case, made of mahogany wood and well preserved too. It works perfectly and can be used to watch samples just as when it was originally made. Except for the shutter disc and the sample plate (made of iron), the microscope is fully made of brass. All the microscopes component parts are original and work fine, turning its use into a real pleasure. This device boasts a simple and functional design, typical of turn-of-the-century microscopes. It stands on an ample and solid brass circular base that provides it with stability. The microscope is connected to the base by a ball that fits into a central hole this curious assembly system makes it possible to move the microscope in all directions in order to properly use it. Under the sample plate there is a shutter disc that can be moved to cast more o less light to the sample. The turret with the lens has a mobile magnifier attached, just beside the focusing knob. At the top of the turret we find the eyepiece; the microscope includes an extra eyepiece too. The whole set can be stored into the original case, a fine antique mahogany wooden box. This microscope is an original antique full of personality that will shine on a great desk or in the showcase of a passionate collector. Measurements: Width: 3.1 in / 8 cm. Height: 10.6 in / 27 cm.
