Amazing antique drum microscope fully made of golden brass, with accessory set and in its original wooden case. The microscope was made between 1830 and 1850 and has survived to our days in stunning condition. It works perfectly and can still be used, and at the same time is a highly decorative item. It comes with a complete accessory set, fully original and well preserved. The microscope still preserves the transparent lacquered finish that protects the brass from the rust, showing also the fine patina created by the trace of time. The instrument shows off the classic design typical of drum microscopes: a vertical structure composed of different cylindrical bodies (drums). The turret with the lens stands vertically on the circular sample plate, and under this piece we can see the parts that concentrate and cast the light: a mirrored base, the oscillating mirror and the magnifying glass. On the other hand, the accessory set includes a pair of forceps, six lenses, one eyepiece, glass filters, glass rods, brass tweezers and set of antique samples. The microscope and the accessories are stored in a rare and antique case. It is the devices original case, a lovely wooden box with wavy sides. The box is made of solid mahogany wood with burr walnut cover embedded in the walnut surface there is a brass detail, elegant and decorative. The case has a brass keyhole and inside it has different compartments for the microscope and the accessories. It also preserves the original red-velvet inner lining in quite good condition.
