It was made in Germany in 1922 and has survived to our days together with its original accessories, in its solid wooden case. Four years after Leitz had assumed the control of the factory and changed its name for Ernst Leitz Optical Institute. His microscopes and optic components became highly renowned for its quality, a feature also shown by his famous Leica cameras, a real icon in the field of photojournalism. This awesome microscope mounts three-lens revolving nosepiece and fully original component parts. The golden brass pieces look shiny and even, and keep the original transparent lacquer in excellent condition. The black-enameled bird-claw foot remains as good-looking as the first day. The light-colored wooden case designed to store and carry the microscope contains two wooden stands with several extra eyepieces and the lenses brass sleeves. There is also a wooden box with glass plates and filters, and a leaflet with handwritten information about the device and the accessories.
