It preserves all its original component parts in excellent working order. The microscope is in good conditions with its original double oscillating mirror, the turret with the eyepiece and the objective and the impressive mechanical stage in good working order. At the microscopes base we can see the engraved manufacturers name: ANDERSON & SONS LONDON. The storing case is also a lovely ancient piece. The dark mahogany wood is in good condition and boasts a fine dark red color, over which the golden brass hinges make a nice contrast.
