This beautiful and ancient microscope, made in Germany by Carl Zeiss Jenna in 1910, is a really exclusive piece because of its simplicity and functionality. Sober and elegant, it has a curious U-shaped base which supports the different parts of the device. The body is black but the eyepiece is made of gilded metal, showing an attractive shine. The rest of the details are also made of this material, except for the revolving turret with the lenses, made on chromium-plated metal. The eyepiece is really curious, with three cylindrical parts: the bigger one shows the inscription P. A. 26 (which also appears in one of the lenses) CARL ZEISS JENNA Nr. 52234. The central one shows a centimeter scale. On the other hand, the table has an original circular shape, and has two fixing plates made of fine gilded metal, on both sides of the iris diaphragm located in the centre. The diaphragm is graduated on the down side of the plate, and is just over a mobile augment mirror fixed to the table. The microscope is in good condition, and its black finish combines perfectly with the shiny gilded metal. Even showing some signs of use and wear (logical on such an ancient piece which probably was frequently used in time), this is just another attractive detail in a beautiful scientific piece from the beginning of the XX century, worth belonging to the most demanding experts collection.
