Fantastic Projector Microscope Manufactured by Flatters & Garnett. 1950's

This curious projection microscope is far from the habitual patterns of common optical investigation instruments. Made by German brand Flatters & Garnett in the decade of the 50 (20th century), it shows a peculiar configuration, by means of which the user can view the specimens augmented and projected on a screen or wall. The microscope seems complete, though its halogen bulb is blown and it has not been tested. It is a classic design with all its parts: central rail on which the accessories slide for focusing, adjustable condenser lens, large glass live cell, microscope slide stage with clip holder, quadruple rotating objective nosepiece, three objectives and dust cap. The projection objectives are all original Flatters and Garnett accessories. Their values are: x5 (36 mm) x10 (16 mm) x34 (6mm) It also has rack and pinion focus, and the angle and the height can be conveniently adjusted. The microscope is on a substantial tripod base. On one of its sides we find a metal plate fixed with screws, showing the name of the brand and the serial number: PRECISION MICRO-PROJECTOR Nº 2782 made by FLATTERS & GARNETT LTD. Manchester - England. Also, on the other side (in the centre of the device) there is a round sticking label, in blue color and white lettering, which probably refers to the shop where the microscope was purchased: Harding Scientific Instruments. 163 West Malvern Road. Malvern, Worcs. Tel: Malvern (06845) 5974. This great projection microscope is in good condition, except for some scratches on the finish (mostly on the base) which can be restored. Even though, is a really beautiful antique which shows a very special configuration. Definitely, it is the ideal piece to occupy a place of honor in the collection of any lover of scientific antiques. Microscope measurements: 450 mm wide x 610 mm high.
