This rare article is a glass plate used to prepare samples for microscopes, but instead the typical sample the glass bears an ancient printed microphotograph. The image depicts a picture painted by Sir E. Landseer and entitled Shoeint. It is printed in black and white and stands out for its extremely small size. The photograph is framed by a circle so it can be easily found. To the left of the plate we can see a paper label with the following inscription: PHOTOGRAPH SHOEING. Painted by Sir E. Landseer. A.R. The inscription contains the pictures title and the name of its author. When viewed through a microscope lens, the microphotography shows a picture depicting two men showing a horse.
