Beautiful antique compound microscope in good condition, complete and in perfect working order. The microscope was made in England in the late 19th or early 20th century (circa 1900), and though being more than one hundred years old it can still be used to watch samples. It is made of brass and mounts black-enameled cast-iron foot. Both the lacquered finish and the golden metal remain in very good condition: the black enamel looks even and fine, and the brass preserves the original transparent lacquer. The mobile component parts (adjustment screws and the height adjustable bar) move smoothly. It bears a double faced mirror also in good conditions. Elegant and original, this antique English compound microscope will stand out in any study, room or showcase with technology- and science-related antiques. Measurements: Width: 6.6 in / 17 cm. Height: 15.7 in / 40 cm.
