Outstanding and rare double-column Schwartz microscope, made in England between the late 19th and the early 20th centuries. This device is a very special piece that has survived to our days in great condition. This microscope is also in fine working order and makes it possible to watch samples. The accessory set that comes with it includes an eyepiece and an objective (as well as the ones mounted in the microscope itself), a magnification glass and tweezers. One of the eyepieces is not in great condition, but the rest of the accessories are very well preserved. The microscope is made of brass, except for the base and the sample stage; these component parts are made of black-enameled cast iron and remain in great condition too. The microscopes component parts are protected by the original transparent-lacquered finish, typical of these antique devices. At the front of the turret we can see the brand name Schwartz neatly engraved by hand with a fine cursive lettering. All the microscopes component parts work really fine and show off a fluid movement that will delight all lovers of ancient devices. The magnifier has brass stem and base and preserves the original glass. The tweezers are made of brass too. The box where this wonderful antique microscope is stored is a sober and stylish mahogany wooden suitcase. The wood shows of a lovely golden-reddish color and remains in great condition. The suitcase preserves the antique handle, shutting hooks and hinges. Inside we can see a paper label with the devices name, Microscope Schwartz, written by hand in a curious gothic lettering. The magnifications of the objectives are also written down. This antique Schwartz microscope is a real collectors item which will display its rare beauty in the most special showcase or on a visible shelf. Measurements: Base: Width: 4.33 in / 11 cm.
